New Year, New Location, New Schedule –FAQ
When will we move to Baines Middle School?
January 4th will be our first Sunday in Baines Middle School. This will be our preview service to work out any kinks. Our Sienna Grand Opening will be January 11th.
Where is Baines Middle School located?
Baines MS is located on Sienna Ranch Road just west of Sienna Parkway. It is a great location because it is located directly across the street from our land and future home.
Where should we park? Which door should we use?
The front door will be our main service entrance. There will be signs pointing the way so there will be little question. There is parking all around the front and sides of the school. With the front door being the main entrance the front parking lot will be the primary lot as well. We do ask that we leave as much of that parking for our worship guests and newcomers. If you are a Harvest regular and are able, take a parking spot on one of the side lots as an act of hospitality.
Will there be any schedule changes? Why?
Yes, there will be some adjustments to our Sunday morning schedule. However, our worship service will remain at 10:00 a.m. The schedule will be as follows:
8:30 a.m. Road Crew Load-In
9:15 a.m. Group Life
9:30 a.m. The Gathering
10:00a.m. Worship / Kidz Konnection / Family First
As you can see the Road Crew will get a little additional sleep on Sunday mornings. This is part of our movement from a four hour to a three hour schedule. This is due in part to a significant increase in rental fees at Fort Bend ISD, however, these changes help us maximize our time together and best use our resources. The Leadership Team believes this new schedule will create opportunities for us to connect with God and one another in ways that will help us reach our community.
9:15a.m. – Group Life
Group life will be an opportunity for groups to meet on the Baines campus while final set-up and worship preparation continues. These can be current Life Groups, new groups or short-term studies. These could include children, youth, adults or family oriented groups. More information about groups meeting will be forthcoming. Maybe you would like to start a new group? Childcare will be available during this time.
In addition, there will be classes scheduled periodically to help people get connected at The Harvest. These groups, led by Pastor Jeff, will serve as an orientation to the church, how to get involved, and a membership class.
9:30a.m. – The Gathering
One of the frequent comments from regulars at The Harvest is not having enough time to spend with one another. The Gathering is an expanded hospitality time to encourage people to get to know one another a little better and a great place to invite your neighbors. When you think of The Gathering think of tailgating for Jesus. Different groups will host different Sundays to provide fun and creative breakfast options. Don’t worry; we will always have donuts and coffee. Attending The Gathering is NOT coming to church early – missing it makes you late.
10:00a.m. – Kidz Konnection & Family First
KidzKonnection is a new generation of children’s ministry at The Harvest. It is neither children’s worship nor Sunday school but something entirely new. Led by our new Director of Children’s Ministry, Mandy Kisiel, Kidz Konnection will be a fun place for our children to learn the bible and grow in their faith. Our children age 2-5thgrade will participate in singing and bible lessons before going to their " rooms” for age appropriate teaching and activities. In order to give them the time necessary, children will spend the entire hour at Kidz Konnection rather than starting in the main worship service and then moving. Kidz Konnection will not meet on Family First Sundays.
Family First will be a family friendly worship service the first Sunday of each month allowing the family to worship together and allow our children to experience worship. This creative service will teach the truths of the scriptures and the traditions of the church while keeping people of all ages in mind. The Family First worship will focus on the Kidz Konnection theme for the month. This will allow the church to know what is being taught to the children and opening avenues for discussion with our kids. Childcare will continue to be available for infants through preschoolers.
Family First underscores our commitment to serve the families of our community and will be a recurring opportunity to invite your friends and neighbors.
What about Sunday Life?
Becauseof the compacted schedule we will no longer offer Sunday Life in its current format. This will be the same for both children and adults. However, some Sunday Life groups will continue to meet at the Group Life hour. The discipleship team is exploring many options to meet the need for ongoing Bible Study. More details will be forthcoming.
Trinity Harvest Night
We are currently discussing opportunities to partner with Trinity Baptist Church by renting their facility (when it is completed) one night during the week. During this time we can have Life Groups, Children’s Choir, Ministry Team Meetings, church carry-in dinners, and much more with childcare available. Although this is in the future, please be thinking about how we could best utilize this opportunity. Also, be in prayer for Trinity Baptist as they continue to work on their building.
