What is Church Membership?
 Depending on the group you join, membership has a wide range of meanings and responsibilities. At The Harvest we believe church membership is an important milestone on a person’s spiritual journey. Becoming a member of The Harvest Church is saying this is the place God wants me to put down roots to grow in my faith. It means making this church YOUR church home.
Church membership is different than many other groups you might join. Church membership comes with many responsibilities and very few rights. God called the church to be his hands and feet to a hurting world. Therefore, the church exists to fulfill God’s mission he started in Jesus. It is therefore our responsibility as members to be God’s presence in the world and reach people who do not yet know Christ. The Harvest is therefore not a club for the benefit of its members but a mission station dedicated to the service of our community.
Expectations of Membership
The G4 Covenant
All persons who wish to become members of The Harvest will be asked to commit themselves to a membership covenant agreeing to four areas of responsibility each member will accept.
GLORIFY God by... attending worship each week when I am not sick or out of town.
GROW closer to God by... pursuing at least one means of growing in my faith beyond church attendance. These could include Life Groups, Sunday Life Gatherings, regular devotions, etc.
GIVE my best to God by... being generous with my time, talents, and treasure. I will serve God by serving one area in the church each year. I will grow in my proportional giving with the tithe as the goal.
GO into my world by... being open to share what God is doing in my life and participating in the outreach events of The Harvest.
 Where Should I Begin?
When you are ready to talk about church membership just mark the box on the back of the Connect Card or talk to Pastor Jeff. He can let you know when the next Membership Sunday will be and answer any other questions you might have about the church.
Membership Sundays
On a regular basis, those who would like to join the church will be invited down as a group to become members of The Harvest. Those who have not been baptized will be baptized at that time. Following the service, the congregation will be invited to join the new members for a celebration luncheon at a nearby restaurant. It will be an INCREDIBLE day!! If you are uncomfortable joining the church in front of the congregation, please let someone know and other arrangements can be made.
